Obituary For Martin William Strok

Martin “Marty” William Strok, 82, of Union, KY passed away on September 2, 2024, surrounded by family. Marty was born June 27, 1942, to Frank Strok and Dorothy Grubbe in Chicago, Illinois. The majority of Marty’s career was spent as a graphic arts printing consultant for GATF based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Marty was a city boy from the south side of Chicago who fell in love with a country girl from a little holler called Peach Tree in West Virginia. It didn’t take long for that holler to become “home”. In 1974 Marty married the love of his life, Brenda Faye Dickens. Marty and Brenda went on to have 4 children. Keith Seroski (Elena), Kimberly Good (Scott), Kelly Wanner (Brett), and Kagan Strok. After retiring, Marty spent time traveling with his children and grandchildren, cooking, painting, woodworking, winemaking and cheering on his beloved Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears. Marty has been reunited with his mother, Dorothy, father, Frank, his wife, Brenda, and of course, Elvis. Marty is survived by his children mentioned above as well as his sister Diana Henry (Dennis “Herk”), his grandchildren, Carmen Jones, Kirill and Mila Seroski, Cole (Mina) and Caleb Broome, Alexis Wanner, Gracie Good and his grand pup Archer as well as many brother/sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Marty was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and never missed a sporting event, practice, birthday, or graduation. If you knew him, you loved him. His smile and laughter lit up the room wherever he went. He will be greatly missed by all.
