Obituary For Mary Carol Story

Mary Carol Story, age 69, of Hebron, passed away on June 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Mary Carol proudly drove a school bus for more than 20 years, forming many lifelong friendships along the way. She went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree and moved into the Transportation Coordinator role until she retired. After retiring, she followed her passion for travel and became a travel agent, combining her love for adventure and photography. Mary Carol had a keen eye for beauty, whether through the lens of her camera or in her vibrant garden. She was known for her warm sense of humor, her love of cooking and baking, and even enjoyed pheasant hunting.

Mary Carol is survived by her husband of 19 years, Dennie Story; her children, Jeremy L. (Shannon) Bedel and Andrea E. (Kyle) Smith; stepchildren Stephen Douglas Story and Mindy Linnemann; grandchildren: 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-grandson; step-grandchildren: 5 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Jane (Wayne) Napier, Norb (Mary) Steuber, Nancy (Jeff) Peden, and Marjie (Lee) Stauber

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn J. and Robert L. Steuber, and her brother, Robert L. Steuber Jr.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Services will immediately follow at 6pm. A reception will follow at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington.
