Obituary For Mary Jo Baker
Mary "Jo" Baker passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026. Jo was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on July 18, 1938, along with her twin brother, Ralph, to her parents Ray, and Marietta Tussey.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Hilton and her daughter Rainie.
Jo was a proud graduate of Midway Junior College in 1957 and from Georgetown College in 1960. Where she met the love of her Life. Singing and Basketball were some of Jo's favorite activities at Midway College. She sang in the Traveling Acapella Choir for the college and was a member of the basketball team. Later in Life she had the opportunity to sing in the Living Christmas Tree at Erlanger Baptist Church.
She worked as a secretary for several companies, but at the top of her list was TWA. She loved working there and made lasting friendships with her coworkers.
Jo was a member of Erlanger Baptist Church for over 60 years where she served as the church secretary, participated in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served on several committees.
Jo was a gifted ceramic artist. A beloved ceramics instructor for over 30 years sharing her talents freely, and teaching classes in her home and at church. She was known for her patience and ability to kindle creativity in others.
Jo was a woman of unwavering belief, whose love for the Lord was present through every aspect of her life. She found joy in prayer, strength in scripture, and peace in the promises of eternal life. She shared her faith through kindness, compassion, and an unyielding trust in God's plan.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Marietta Tussey and her brothers Ray and Ralph.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 25, 2026 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Erlanger Baptist Church, 116 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
