Mary Katherine “Taffy” Sterling, 76 passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born on August 16, 1949, Taffy was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer John Sterling and Laverne Sterling (née Pieper). She established strong relationships in her early career in radio advertising before taking her talents to form her own marketing agency and later joined the start up Chipotle with multiple market responsibilities. She was known for her creativity, dedication, and warm personality.

Above all else, Taffy treasured her family. She adored and shared a special bond and countless hours with her nieces and nephews, particularly her niece Tara before her passing In addition to her parents, Taffy was preceded in death by her sister, Michele Williams.

She is survived by her devoted life partner, Caleb Faux; her brother, Glenn Sterling; her sisters, Gemma Zembrodt, Jan Zembrodt, and Mary Pat Lewis; and her brother, Fr. John Sterling, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mother of God Church, 119 W. 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation.
