Obituary For Mary Wanda Vance

With heavy hearts we celebrate the beautiful life of Mary Wanda Vance, 65, from Independence. That life ended swiftly Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was surrounded by family who meant everything to her. She was born to Jerry and Mary Elliott on August 18, 1960.

Her life was spent pouring her heart into her 3 daughters as well as her 7 grandchildren. They were her world, and she built her life around loving and supporting them, and celebrating every moment she had with them.

Mary (Wanda) found joy in the simple comforts of home. She loved her TV shows (all 200+ off them) and carefully recorded them on her DVR so she always had a show waiting for her. It was one of her favorite ways to pass the time.

Her constant companion was her cat, Presley. He is old, stubborn, and undeniably mean but he was deeply loved by her all the same. Their bond was one of those perfectly imperfect relationships that said so much about her loyalty, patience, and obviously enlarged heart.

She will be remembered for her unconditional love, her humor, and the way she made everyone around her feel cared for. Her love leaves a lasting imprint on her family.

She leaves behind children who adored her: Destinny & TJ Page as well as their children: Kaitlynn, Kaison, Kolton, Kashton, and Caden; also Chastinny Works with her fiancé Joshua Saffell; as well as her children: Elliana, Ethanael, and Izaiah. Among them are her mother, Mary Lou; siblings who will miss her dearly: Jayne Rick & Sharon, Sheila & Roger, and Alissa & Randy; all of whom carry a piece of her heart with them.

She is preceded in death by her youngest daughter Kristinny, her dad Jerry and her grandmother Eliza Jane.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on April 12, 2026 between 11am - 1pm with services immediately following at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
