Obituary For Maureen L. Reedy

Maureen L. Reedy, 58, of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. She was born on October 12, 1967, in Covington, Kentucky, to Dr. Albert and Dorothy (née Scharfenberger) Reedy.

Maureen was a very special individual born with special needs, and her life brought both challenges and deep meaning to her family. Though her limitations often made life difficult, Maureen was unconditionally loved. Her beautiful smile was her most recognizable trait — a smile she shared freely and one that left a lasting impression on those who met her.

Maureen found joy in simple, familiar pleasures. She loved riding her bike, swimming, and being near her family. Routine and predictability brought her comfort, and she especially enjoyed time spent with her family. These moments were bright spots in her life and in theirs.

Through caring for Maureen, her family learned patience, perseverance, and the strength that comes from supporting one another. Her life reminded them to appreciate small victories, to meet challenges with compassion, and to find meaning in the everyday. The lessons learned through loving Maureen will remain with them always.

Maureen is survived by her siblings: Bert Reedy, Kathy Reedy, Debbie and Cal Morris, John Reedy and Karen, Paula and Mark Lea, Patti Reedy and Mitch Stanfield, and Mike Reedy and Missy. She also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews and 22 great‑nieces and great‑nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Albert and Dorothy Reedy.

A Catholic Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. There will be no visitation prior to the Mass. A reception to celebrate her life will be held immediately following the Mass in the church undercroft. Maureen will be laid to rest at Mother of God Cemetery, 3125 Madison Avenue, Ft. Wright, Kentucky at 3:00 p.m.

Donations may be made in Maureen’s name to the charity of your choice.
