Obituary For Melvin Perry

Melvin “Mel” Perry, 72, of Burlington, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

Born on July 31, 1953, Mel was the beloved son of the late Alfred Fred Perry and Lucille Pearl Collum Perry. Right out of high school he worked at Aristech for 14 years then he dedicated many years of service to Ineos in the maintenance department until he retired in 2015.

Mel was a proud and active Mason for more than 50 years and a devoted member of Boone United Lodge #264. He was also a passionate fan of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball and rarely missed cheering them on.

Above all, Mel was a family man who treasured time spent with those he loved. He was an outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to his yard and garden, and taking fishing trips with his brothers. He loved tagging along to concerts with his wife, Laura. Mel found joy in grilling outside with a cold beer, watching nature and animal videos on YouTube, and checking the night camera footage of the animals that wandered through his yard.

Mel is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Laura Perry; son, Daryl Perry; grandson, Max Perry; siblings: Jimmy, Robert Lee, Barbara and Karen; sister-in-law, Lisa (John) Gaines; as well as many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred F. and Lucille Pearl; son Dewayne Perry; siblings: Edwin, Pete, Bud, Alfred Jr., Ervin, Earl, Millie, Edna, Alice, Charlie, Ruth and Melanie Sue.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 PM until the time of service, 7:00 PM, at Linnemann Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY, 41005.
