Obituaries

Mildred Lura Wathen (née Rinehart), age 72, formerly of Harrodsburg, KY, passed away on January 13, 2026, while a hospice resident at Rosedale Green, Latonia, KY. She was born on May 4, 1953, to Mildred L. Jones and Calvin L. Rinehart. She was the second oldest of five girls.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, William “Billy” Wathen (2012); her mother in 2006; her father in 1990; her maternal grandmother in 1990; her grandfather in 1969; and a baby brother, William Arthur Rinehart, in 1961.

She is survived by her sisters: Miriam M. Kinder of DeMossville, KY; Virginia S. Mason of Covington, KY; Kay L. Schanches of Charlotte, NC; and Marie Anne Wilson (Jerry) of Stanford, KY; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, and a wonderful sister-in-law, Marquitta Robinson of Salvisa, KY.

At the request of the family, services will be private and held at a later date. Donations are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice or the American Parkinson’s Association.
