Obituary For Myrna Inez Vaughan

Myrna Inez Vaughan, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026.

Born on November 30, 1942, to the late Thomas and Ruby (Mink) Hurley, Myrna lived a life filled with love, friendship, and devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Vaughan, and her sister, Rylynn Ernest.

Myrna dedicated many years of service to the Cincinnati Women's Club, where she worked as Assistant Head Waitress before retiring. One of the greatest blessings of her career was the lifelong friendship she formed with Charlene Banar, who was her supervisor at the club. Their friendship continued long after retirement and remained a cherished part of Myrna's life.

Myrna was known for her outgoing personality and gift of conversation. She never met a stranger and could happily spend hours talking with anyone she met. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially crocheting, watching hummingbirds, dining out with family and friends, and listening to her favorite music. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, she fondly treasured the memories of attending Elvis concerts with her daughter, Lisa, during the early 1970s.

Above all, Myrna loved spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa (Steven) Holstein; her son, Scott (Heather) Vaughan; her brother, Randy (Debbie) Hurley and her grandsons, Jared Shepherd and Dakota (Danielle) Vaughan; her dear friend, Charlene Banar; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.

Myrna will be remembered for her warm heart, lively conversations, enduring friendships, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her kindness, laughter, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Myrna's life and legacy.

Visitation will be held at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Burial will follow at 1:30 in Floral Hills Memorial Garden.

Though she is gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
