It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nanci Simpson, age 54, of Hebron, Kentucky, on January 22, 2025. Nanci’s infectious energy, her love for life, and her unshakable loyalty to her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A true fan of Kentucky basketball and the Bengals, Nanci could often be found cheering loudly for her teams. Whether at a game, tailgate, or simply in conversation, her love for sports was only rivaled by her enthusiasm for life. Her joyful spirit also came alive on the dance floor, where she danced with a smile.

Nanci’s social circle was vast, a testament to her warmth and kindness. She had a remarkable ability to make friends proven by her large list of friends who will dearly miss their companion.

One of Nanci’s greatest loves was her “fur grandbabies”—the pets of her children, who brought her so much joy and affection. They were a constant source of comfort and companionship in her life.

Nanci was preceded in death by her beloved father, John Thompson Sr., and her brother, John Thompson Jr. She leaves behind her loving children, Allison (Beau) Riley, John Simpson, and Shawn Simpson, as well as her cherished siblings, Christa Thompson, Matt Thompson, and Melissa Adkins. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends who considered her family.

Rest in peace, Nanci. You will forever be in our hearts.
