Obituary For Nancy Ann Rapp
Nancy, a loving and devoted mother of three, cherished grandmother of two, beloved partner, and dear friend to many, passed peacefully on April 5, 2026, surrounded by her children. She met Jesus with the same quiet strength and grace that defined her life.
Though not widely known, Nancy courageously battled end-stage lung cancer after her diagnosis in June 2025. Following nine months of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation, her cancer stopped responding to treatment. With a tired body but an unwavering spirit, she chose to spend her final weeks in palliative care at home beginning in mid-March. During that time, her children never left her side, surrounding her with the same love she had so selflessly given them all their lives.
Nancy was, above all, the best mother. Her children were her entire world—her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. She poured herself into every aspect of their lives, attending every practice, every cheer competition, every game, and every school event. She was the “team mom,” their loudest cheerleader, and their constant source of encouragement. Because of her, her children never wanted for anything. She gave them not only everything they needed, but everything she had.
Creativity flowed naturally through Nancy. She had a remarkable talent and passion for interior design, with a gift for transforming spaces into warm, welcoming homes. Through her business, House Ready, she helped countless families prepare their homes for new beginnings. She loved renovating, decorating, painting, organizing, and bringing beauty into the everyday.
Nancy’s vibrant energy and infectious laugh could light up any room. She had a way of making people feel instantly at ease and genuinely happy in her presence. She loved to entertain, to celebrate—even the smallest moments—and found her greatest joy in gathering family and friends in the kitchen, sharing food, laughter, and stories. Holidays were especially dear to her, as were evenings spent reminiscing and even cheering on her beloved Bengals, no matter the outcome.
A compassionate and selfless soul, Nancy was a friend and neighbor like no other. She gave freely of her time and energy—helping neighbors with errands, driving them to appointments, cleaning, or simply offering companionship. She never hesitated to help a stranger, and her kindness left a lasting imprint on everyone she met.
Nancy also had a deep love for animals, often dreaming of a farm filled with every kind imaginable. Her dogs—Timmy, Lucy, and Lulu—were her constant companions and were loved as deeply as family.
Later in life, Nancy found a beautiful and unexpected love. With her partner, she experienced a romance full of joy, laughter, and connection. Together, they embraced life’s simple pleasures—long walks, deep conversations, cooking meals, dancing, singing, and celebrating each moment and milestone. Their love was a testament to the beauty of finding your person, no matter when it happens.
Nancy’s cancer never defined her. She lived fully and fearlessly, never allowing it to diminish her spirit. She endured unimaginable pain without complaint, shielding those she loved from the weight of her struggle. She was a warrior—brave, resilient, and selfless until her final breath.
Nancy will be remembered as the best mom, a best friend, a loving partner, and an extraordinary human being. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the family she held so close.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
