Obituary For Nancy Jean Crone
Nancy Jean Crone (otherwise known as Nan), 71, of Morningview, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly early on September 23, 2026, due to a heart attack and further complications after the fact. Nan had been doing yardwork the previous morning, as she loved to do when she started experiencing back and chest pains. She was taken to the hospital and sadly passed away.
Nan was born on December 14, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Paul & Eleanor (Kistener) Cunningham. She spent her life loving and caring for everyone she knew. The only way to describe Nan was as selfless as you could be, she devoted countless hours to volunteering at Williamstown Independent Schools and Northern Kentucky Community Action in Grant County- helping people going through tough times without ever batting an eye. She was always willing to help with anything anyone needed- including teaching others how to take care of their pools (because she was so meticulously good at it) or taking care of some landscaping (which earned her the loving nickname, “The Nanscaper.” She was truly a Nan to everyone she knew and it was no doubt the job she was most proud of. As she would’ve said, she loved everyone “bunches.”
Nancy is survived by her husband Ron Crone; one brother Paul (Nancy) Cunningham; two daughters, Michelle (Donny) Young & Peggy (Jermey) Morrison; step-son Andy (Brittany) Crone; and her three grandchildren, Jocelyn (Tanner) Young, Payton Morrison, and Brenden Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Eleanor (Kistener) Cunningham.
Following her cremation, a visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th from 4:00pm to 7:30pm, with a service beginning at 7:30pm at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
Nan will be remembered for her generosity to all that she knew and loved, along with the many memories she made with those she cared about. She touched the lives of so many people in such a profound way and will be unbelievably missed.
