Obituaries

Nicholas Tanner Mills, 32, of Covington, passed away in Cincinnati after a short illness on Monday, June 5, 2023. Born March 15, 1991, he was the son of Michael Drew and Jennifer Swearinger Mills.

Nicholas was a graduate of Lincoln County High School, Class of 2009 and of Northern Kentucky University, Class of 2014. Nicholas enjoyed baseball, art, music, video games, and trying out new food dishes. He always found a way to incorporate quotes from his favorite movies and tv shows into conversations, the majority coming from his favorite show, The Simpsons. If Nicholas wasn’t hanging out with his dog Diesel or cat Thundera at his apartment, you could find him hanging out with his many friends around Mainstrasse, hitting up a golf course with friends or family, or taking a trip down to the family cabin at Lake Cumberland. Nicholas had a caring and empathetic personality, an infectious smile and laugh, and great hair. He cared deeply for all his friends and family and left a positive impact on the lives of everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Nicholas is survived by a sister, Alaina Drew (Will) Cooper and nephew, Woods Cooper of Hustonville; maternal grandparents, Chester and Phyllis Swearinger of Hustonville; paternal grandparents, Kenneth J. Mills and Aleece Mills of Maxey Valley; maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Southerland of Hustonville; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation is 11am-1pm, Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm with Scott Gels officiating. Pallbearers are Brian Mills, Bryan Swearinger, Eli Gels, McKenna Brannon, Madison Gels, and Jason Durham.
