Obituary For Peggy Ann Harney
Peggy Ann Harney, 82, of DeMossville, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026. Peggy was born December 3, 1943 to Isaac and Etna Nichols, who precede her in passing. Also preceding Peggy in passing are her brother, Billy Nichols; son-in-law, Jim Bergman; and brother-in-law, Ray Brewer.
Peggy's memory lives on in those who survive her, her daughters, Cynthia 'Cindy' Harney and Alice Bergman; her siblings, Larry Nichols, Donald 'Donnie' Nichols, Brenda Brewer, Clendon Nichols, and Sheryl Nichols; her beloved grandchildren Robert 'Robby' Bergman, Jacob Bergman, and Samantha Utley.
Peggy was born and raised in the hills of Kentucky and was a proud and longstanding member of Gardnersville Baptist Church. She will be remembered for being a kind and capable woman who never hesitated to speak her mind. She was always happiest spending family vacations in Tennessee when her whole family would spend quality time together for a week or more at a time. Peggy was always looking to spot a black bear in the mountains, her favorite animal. A caring housewife and homemaker for most of her life, her grandchildren fondly remember sitting on the porch snapping peas to prepare for a comforting evening meal around the family table, but breakfast was really Peggy's strong suit. Peggy could make quite a breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, toast, and other tasty treats for her grandchildren when they came to visit.
Peggy will be remembered for her love for her family and her role as a beloved mother and Mamaw.
Visitation for Peggy Ann will take place Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services will take place the following day at 11:00 PM followed by interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
