Rita Mary Thaman (née Collopy), age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at her son’s residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita graduated from Holy Cross and received her RN training from St Elizabeth Hospital in Covington. A dedicated nurse, Rita devoted her life to caring for others, especially her grand children. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and was known as a formidable Scrabble player, always ready to claim the triple-word score. She loved opera, a good manhattan, treasured time with friends and family, and above all else adored babies, whose presence brought her immense joy. A member of St. Pius X parish for over 50 years, she was a woman of quiet faith and her trust in the Lord sustained her in her long life.

Her warmth, humor, and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
