Obituary For Robert Witsberger

Robert “Bob” Witsberger, 88, of Florence, entered the gates of Heaven on February 28, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Born on February 2, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, Bob was the son of the late Richard Witsberger Sr. and Margaret Helmbrecht Witsberger. He carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and devotion that would define his life.

Bob shared an extraordinary love story with the love of his life, Judith (Evans) Witsberger, who survives him. Married for 69 beautiful years, their journey began at a local skating rink in Wheeling, WV. Their skates locked, Bob accidentally ran over Judith’s pinky finger, and she told him, “You’re going to pay for that.” And he did — by loving her faithfully and wholeheartedly for the next 69 years. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, laughter, and enduring love.

Bob retired from the airline industry, where he served as a respected manager. He was a proud member of the Naval Reserves and a faithful member of Richwood Presbyterian Church. His faith was an important foundation in his life.

He loved to work — whether on the job, under the hood of a car, or out in the yard. Bob found purpose in staying busy and took pride in everything he did. His strong work ethic and steady presence were admired by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Genevieve Witsberger, Mary Jane Bracker, and Helen Boyd; and his brothers, Ronald Witsberger and Richard Witsberger Jr.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Judith; his daughters, Mikel (Glenn) Derrick and Jaimie (Richard) Henson; and his son, Kelly (Donna) Witsberger. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Welsh and Doris Long.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Tige (Jocelyn) Witsberger, Marshall (Ellen) Witsberger, Ledra (Aaron) Sprinkles, Tel Henson, and Jaric Henson. His legacy continues through his nine great-grandchildren: Ava Kate Ryan, Silas Sprinkles, Elliott, Gideon, Hudson, Paige, and Colin Witsberger, and Adelynn and Landon Becker. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Richwood Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial at Independence Cemetery will be private for the family.

THE FAMILY KINDLY REQUESTS THAT NO FLOWERS BE SENT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

If you plan to attend, Bob requested that you wear bright colors. Please do not wear black.
