Obituaries

Roger Allen Means, 73, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 7. He was the son of late Louis and Helen (Martin) Means.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Deidesheimer) Means; his brother, Terry Means; and his sisters, Elaine Mae (Means) Turner and Sandra Hoskins.

Roger is survived by his children, Justin (Katie) Means and Michele (Matt) Alatorre; his grandchildren, Caroline and Amelia Means, and Tyler, Leo, Nora, and Gabby Alatorre; his siblings, Lois Clayton and Darrell Means (Amy); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Roger served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a communications center specialist with the 426th Signal Battalion. His military honors included the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

A private service for the family will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home. 427 S. Fort Thomas Avenue, Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

There will be a Celebration of Life open house for friends and family on October 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the St. Thomas Undercroft; 26 E. Villa Place, Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075. The family will join immediately following the funeral service and burial. The undercroft is beneath the church and can be entered from the right side of the building.
