Obituary For Ronald Steven Zepf
Ronald Steven Zepf, 73, of Cold Spring, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born on March 7, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ron was known for his strong work ethic, warm personality, and quick wit.
Ron spent many years working as a highly respected diamond setter for Koop Diamond Cutters and later at IBGoodman, where he took immense pride in his craft. He was a hardworking and dependable provider. No matter the circumstance, Ron almost always had a smile on his face and could make anyone laugh with his charismatic sense of humor.
A naturally athletic man, some of his children’s greatest memories were the countless hours spent in the yard practicing baseball with him and their cousins. Ron loved being outdoors and was happiest near the water — whether soaking up the sun at the beach, boogie boarding in the waves, or boating with his family. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing with his son and brother, and fishing with friends whenever he could.
Music was another lifelong passion of Ron’s. A talented self-taught musician, he played many instruments, including the guitar, piano, harmonica, and drums. His love for music brought joy not only to himself, but also to those around him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Grace (née Claxton) Zepf; his son, Timothy Vaughn; and his brothers, Thomas Zepf and Daniel Zepf.
Ron is survived by his longtime partner, Sandra Wikle; his children, Sarah Zepf and Adam Zepf (Lauren); his beloved grandchildren, Charlotte Zepf, Calvin Zepf, and Sebastian Zepf; as well as many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2026, at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington Street, Alexandria, Kentucky 41001, from 6:00 PM until the time of memorial services at 8:00 PM.
