Ronald Walter Meyer, 92, of Southgate, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Dayton, Kentucky, on September 1, 1933, Ronald was the son of the late Herbert and Thelma Meyer. Ronald proudly served on the Newport, KY, Auxiliary Police Force. He was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures — collecting antiques, visiting yard sales, and watching classic television shows such as Columbo and Murder, She Wrote. His favorite place was his front porch, where he could often be found relaxing with a cigar.

Ronald treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Herman. His grandchildren will forever remember his unforgettable Donald Duck impression, which brought laughter and joy to so many family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Donna Meyer, and his sister, Sue Lawrence.

He leaves behind his loving daughters, Pam Brock, Kellie (Mark) Sherlock, and Barbara Meyer; his brother, Jerry Meyer; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his close friend, Barb Smith; and, of course, his faithful companion, Herman the cat.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, Kentucky 41011.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Ronald’s name to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, Kentucky 41017.
