Russell Steven Preston, age 71, of Northern Kentucky, passed away on July 14, 2026.

Russell was born on May 12, 1955, in Covington, Kentucky. He spent his life working hard and providing for his family. Before retiring, Russell worked as a Security Guard for UPS. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a service he carried with pride throughout his life. Russell was a faithful attendee of Southside Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and participating in his bowling league.

Russell was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter Preston and Alice Wolf Preston, as well as his daughter, Laura Perkins.

Russell is lovingly survived by his son, Steven Preston; his brother, Walter Preston; his granddaughter, Alayah Preston, along with 10 other grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Russell will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his military service, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

Per Russell's wishes, there will be no services. Floral Hills is honored to serve the Preston family.
