Obituaries

Russell Turner, 80, of Ryland Heights, Kentucky, passed away on October 26, 2026. He was the son of Henry B Turner and Elvira Johnson.

Russell was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and uncle and true friend to many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved bluegrass music and played bass in their family band, Licking Valley Bluegrass. He was very smart with the ability to figure out anything motorized and fix it. He could almost always be found outside or in the garage, tinkering with something. His loss will leave a hole in our lives, never to be filled.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elvira and brothers, Arnold, Willis and Ronald.

He leaves behind his wife, Odessa Turner (Arrowood); son, Dwayne (Kim) Turner; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Matt and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Alexis; and a sister, Pauline Turner.

A visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria, Kentucky on Tuesday November 3, 2026, from 11:00am-1:00pm. The service will begin at 1:00pm and the burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill.
