Obituary For Sara Ann Mead
Sara Ann Mead, age 40 of Alexandria, KY, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday July 14th, 2026. She was born March 21st, 1986 in Milford, CT to Julianna Margaret Trimbur (Henderson). She was adopted by Timothy John Mead when she was 2 years old.
Sara was preceded in death by her grandmother Mary B. Smith and her grandfather Jerry L. Henderson. She is survived by her mother Julianna (Gene) Trimbur, her father Timothy Mead, her brothers Matthew (Tori) Mead and Dylan (Brittany) Mead, as well as her grandmother Eileen Brickett, her nieces, a nephew, aunts and uncles, cousins, and caregivers who all loved her.
She was born with a condition called Lissencephaly, resulting in her experiencing many hardships. Due to this condition doctors informed her family that she wouldn't live past the age of 10.
Through the never ending love and support from her mother, Julianna, and her own stubbornness, Sara was able to not only survive but thrive to the age of 40. Julianna is a registered nurse and has taken care of Sara in and outside the home for all the 40 years of Sara's life. Bringing her joy and experiences she might not otherwise have had.
Sara loved bells and was always heard before she was seen. She communicated in her own way and was always sure to let you know how she was feeling. She had a bright smile, an infectious laugh, and a solid right hook.
She brought out the best in those around her whether they were family, caregivers, or friends. Her life was filled with compassion and love, first and foremost from her doting mother, who always found a reason to spoil her.
Sara's life wasn't without adversity but with the ever present care of her family and those who go out of their way to care for those individuals that are differently able, she was able to live a full and fulfilling life. Her devoted and loving caregivers at The Point/Arc made each and every day comfortable and full of love.
Sara loved the ocean and to swim. She loved movies, the aquarium, and music. She loved animals and they loved her in return. She made friends wherever she went and brightened up a room with her smile, her ringing of bells, and her waving of pom-poms. Her favorite place to be, when she wasn't at home with her family, was The Bill and Betsy Scheben Care Center, where her mother works, where she got to be around all of her many friends.
She was known for being a great listener and never judged anyone she met in life.
Sara Ann Mead aka Chicky defied all conventional medical notions and was stubborn to the end, doing things her own way and she is loved endlessly for that fact.
A celebration of life is being planned to honor Sara, information for the place and date will be shared when available.
In lieu of any gifts or flowers to the family, donations can be made in her name to the Scheben Care Center: https://www.schebencarecenter.org/support-us/
