Obituary For Sharon Leah Bartlett
Sharon Leah Bartlett, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on August 23, 1963, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Sharon was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mildred (nee Dreyer) Bartlett and one of fourteen children. She was incredibly proud of her big family and adored the bond she had with her siblings.
Sharon was born with a learning disability, but she never allowed anything to stand in the way of living a full and extraordinary life. She had an incredible ability to find joy in the simplest things and to make everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. Sharon was tenderhearted, compassionate, and deeply loving. She was wonderfully social, never knew a stranger, and had a laugh that could brighten an entire room.
Sharon loved getting dressed up and looking her very best, favoring the color green. She took great pride in her jewelry and loved shopping for things that made her feel beautiful. She enjoyed playing card games, listening to Celine Dion and The Carpenters, watching Hallmark movies and Little House on the Prairie, and visiting restaurants where she could order her favorite meal, chicken and lemonade. She loved the excitement of Kings Island and was always ready for a good roller coaster. And, of course, no list of Sharon’s favorites would be complete without mentioning her beloved Three Musketeers candy bars.
Sharon also had a remarkable athletic spirit. Throughout her life, she participated and excelled in track, basketball, bowling, and cheerleading. She proudly competed in the Special Olympics and won numerous medals throughout the years. One particularly memorable moment was captured on the front page of the Cincinnati Post—Sharon crossing the finish line, a beautiful testament to her determination, strength, and joy.
But while Sharon accomplished so much, what she will be remembered for most is the enormous love she gave so freely. She had a giving heart and a gentle spirit that touched countless lives. Sharon had a way of reminding the people around her to be kind, to celebrate the little things, and to love one another a little more. In so many ways, she was an angel on earth.
Sharon leaves behind a family and community who were blessed simply by knowing her. She is survived by her siblings, Sandy McGrath; Linda (Dave) Stricker; Nancy (Dave) Krull; Al (Terry) Bartlett; Mary Lyon; John (Linda) Bartlett; Joe (Becky) Bartlett; Pam (Mark) Moore; Peggy (Mike) Wesselman; Marcie Herbst; Lisa (Jeff) Nehus; and Tom (Cindy) Bartlett. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as her devoted caregivers Lisa Fox, Connie Spahn, Shelley King, Hanna Butts, Nicholle Wilson, Becky Pflueger, Robyn Fox, and the many other caregivers who shared in her life throughout the years. Sharon also leaves behind many dear friends she made at the Bill and Betsy Scheben Center, where she was a beloved part of the community.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her two infant brothers, sister, Debbie Bartlett; brother-in-law, Marty McGrath; and caregiver and dear friend, Mary Meyrose.
Funeral services for Sharon will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church on Monday, September 28, 2026. Family welcomes to you join them for a visitation at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Sharon will be laid to rest at St. Stephen Cemetery.
Sharon’s life was a gift. She brought laughter where there was quiet, warmth where there was loneliness, and love wherever she went. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, and the world is a little dimmer without her light. The love she gave so generously will remain—in her family, in her friends, and in every life she touched.
Donations made be made in Sharon’s name to St. Timothy Catholic School, 10268 US-42, Union, KY 41091.
