Sherman Earl McNew, 79, of Melbourne, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 13, 2026.

Born on December 7, 1946, Sherman was the son of the late Chester and Ruby (Coffey) McNew. He retired from Ceramic Coating Company after many years of dedicated work.

Sherman was a proud member of the Secretary Hawkins Book Club. He found great joy in woodworking, restoring and painting cars, and settling in to watch a good Western movie. Above all, Sherman treasured his family. He loved spending time with those he loved most, and the memories he created with them will be cherished forever.

In addition to his parents, Sherman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharyn McNew, and his brother, Carl McNew.

He leaves behind his loving children, Robin (Steve) Fullbeck, Steven (Stacy) McNew and Tami McNew (Mike Cooper); his sister, Wanda (Ron) Clemmon; his sister-in-law, Donna McNew; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m., with burial to follow at Alexandria Cemetery.
