Obituaries

Sr. M. Denise Gough, OSB died peacefully on Sunday, August 25 at St. Walburg Monastery at the age of 95. A Benedictine sister for 70 years, Sr. Denise served as a registered nurse and nurse anesthetist at Mt. Mary Hospital, Hazard, KY; St. Joseph Hospital, Florence CO; Madonna Manor, Villa Hills, KY and St. Clair Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY.

She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Catherine Volkering Gough, her brothers: Edward, Francis, Jr., Robert, Raymond, William, James and Joseph and her sisters Mary Ellen Webb, Sr. Margaret Mary Gough, Kathleen and Eileen Gough. She is survived by her sister Sr. Stella Gough, OSB and many nieces and nephews, friends and her Benedictine community.

Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 29 followed by visitation until 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5:00 pm, Friday, August 30.
