He had a particular love for horse racing and was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, University of Kentucky basketball, and the Cincinnati Bengals. Beyond sports, Stephen was an avid reader with a deep interest in history and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, where he became known for his signature “Steve’s Soups.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Hahlen; his brother, Michael Hahlen; and his sister, Lynn Hahlen.
Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Sue Hahlen; his sisters, Diane (Scott) Smith and Kathleen (Berry) Rankin; his best friend, Bill (Tracy) Amato; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
