Obituary For Stephen Michael Muff
Stephen Michael Muff, 68, of Walton, Kentucky, passed unexpectedly and entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to the late David and Sharon Muff.
Stephen was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and dedicated many years to a successful career with Fidelity Investments before his retirement. A man of steadfast faith, he faithfully served as a Deacon at Big Bone Baptist Church, where he was deeply involved in ministry and passionate about helping others know and trust in Jesus.
Stephen was a devoted husband, father, and papa; nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his family. Stephen was Patti's best friend and constant companion; he never left her side throughout her cancer journey. He had a lifelong love of tennis and proudly coached his daughter, Shelby, who went on to play at the collegiate level. He was an avid reader; he passed this passion on to his daughter, Sarah. He took on the role of teacher with his granddaughter's schooling, swimming, and learning how to ride a bike. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, he was intelligent, well-written, detail-oriented, well-organized, unfailingly loyal and deeply thoughtful. He also enjoyed his Monday morning prayer meetings, spending time in the Bible, listening to music, playing disc golf, fishing, and collecting guns and knives.
Stephen leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Patti Muff; his cherished daughters, Shelby Pantoja and Sarah Muff; and his beloved granddaughter, Madison Pantoja, whom he lovingly called “Maddie Jane.” He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle Muff and Tamara Elrod (Bobby); his brother, Martin Muff (Liann); and several nieces and nephews: Jacob, Alex, Keegan, and Cameron Muff, Amber Dolin and Lindsey Carter, as well as Rachel and Zach Baldock.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Big Bone Baptist Church, 11036 Big Bone Church Road, Union, KY 41091. Burial will follow immediately at Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery.
