Obituary For Stephen Peterson
Stephen “Pete” Peterson, 75, of Florence, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Pete was full of humor, love and dedication to both his work and family. He was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church and the second-generation owner of Peterson Heating and Air. His career began at just 14 years old, working alongside his father.
Known for his simple nature and sharp sense of humor, Pete had a gift for making people laugh. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, with a deep love for football, golf, and baseball—cheering on his beloved Miami Dolphins through every season. In his youth, he was an athlete in school, playing football, baseball, and even on the diving team.
Beyond sports, Pete had a passion for woodworking. He especially loved building furniture and toy boxes for his grandchildren and cheering them on at any of their events. Pete had a sweet tooth, with Reese’s Cups and anything Little Debbie topping his list of favorites.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Peterson; parents, Frank and Martine Peterson; great-grandchild, Joseph Brookover; and brother, Jerry Peterson.
Pete is survived by his children: Poppi (Gary) Brookover, Jeremy (Sandra) Peterson and Tabetha (Ralph) Marsh; grandchildren: Samantha, Kelsey, Kayla, Caleb and Ava Brookover; Annie and Gwen Peterson, Riley and Brody Marsh; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Eleanor; brothers, Chuck Peterson and Marty Peterson; and nephew, Dustin (Tammy) Peterson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 12:00 PM, at Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Rd., Hebron, KY 41048. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
