Obituary For Steven Ellis Townsend

Steven Ellis Townsend, beloved resident of Covington, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on October 10, 1965, in Covington, Steven’s life was marked by a gentle spirit and a joyful heart.

From his earliest days, Steven delighted in the company of his family and nurtured a special affection for the imaginative worlds of Star Wars and ninjas. His spirited presence was further expressed through running in the Special Olympics, a testament to his courage and determination. Steven found simple pleasures in watching television, playing video games, and sharing endearing moments with his cherished dog, Peppy. His humor was a cherished gift, brightening the lives of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodrow and Frances Marshbanks, Loretta Townsend Setty, and his brother Kenny Townsend.

Steven is lovingly remembered by his sister, Scarlet Hudson and her husband Bob; his brother, Michael Townsend; his niece, Nina Allen and her husband Kerrey, along with their five children; nephews Joshua Townsend and his three children, George Townsend and his three children, Shane Townsend and his wife Christy with their child, and Ryan Townsend. He also leaves behind his uncle Bill Marshbanks and wife Novella, along with Sheila, Sherry, and numerous cousins and extended family members who hold his memory dear.

A celebration of Steven’s life will be held in June, with the date and time to be announced.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors and nurses of St. Elizabeth Hospital MICU for their compassionate care and kindness shown to our family.
