Obituary For Summer Nettie Coventry

Summer Nettie Coventry

November 29, 2024 – June 8, 2025

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our precious daughter, Summer Nettie Coventry, who left us far too soon on June 8, 2025, at just over six months old.

Summer was the beloved daughter of Sean and Julia (née McGlinchey) Coventry, and in her brief time on Earth, she brought immense joy, light, and laughter to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her loving grandparents, Laurie (Barry) Akins, Joe McGlinchey, and Rob and Debra Coventry, who adored her beyond measure.

Known lovingly as Mom and Dad’s “little jalapeño popper,” Summer had a spark and a presence that couldn’t be missed. Her expressive eyes spoke volumes — whether she batted her beautiful lashes or gave her signature bombastic side-eye, you always knew exactly where you stood. She had a magical way of making connections, often through the simple sweetness of holding your finger or flashing her heart-melting smile when you raised her hands and said, “Yeah!”

Summer had a playful spirit, a wild tongue that was often out in delight, and a habit of stylishly rocking just one sock — a true original. She found wonder in butterflies, unicorns, mermaids, and was soothed to sleep by the gentle sound of ocean rain and her beloved sea horses nearby. A budding book lover, she shared cozy moments with her parents listening to Harry Potter, making it through four novels — a remarkable feat for such a little girl with such a big heart.

Summer’s time with us was far too short, but her impact was immeasurable. She was — and always will be — our little princess, our joy, our light.

A private service will be held with close family. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Summer’s memory to a Cincinnati Childrens hospital.
