Obituary For Susan Claire Braun-Drach

Susan Claire Braun-Drach, 78, of Taylor Mill, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on March 17, 2026. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her husband John, daughter Amy, stepdaughter Diane, and caregiver Tammy.

She was born September 26, 1947 to the late Charles and Wanda (Jordan) Braun in Covington, KY. After graduating from Campbell County High School in 1965, Susan attended Ashland University. She eventually returned to northern Kentucky as a teacher of ballet and a dancer.

She earned a degree in nursing from Northern Kentucky University and began her career at Woodspoint Nursing Home. From there she joined the oncology group at St. Luke in Ft. Thomas. Subsequently she moved to old St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington where she did IV therapy, endoscopy, and home health care. As a visiting nurse she provided home care including some of the poorest parts of the area. When the Covington hospital closed, she completed her career with Health South in Edgewood.

Susan also was a skilled family genealogist tracing her family back to the 1600’s. She first became acquainted with John through this research. They were married in December 2019 and enjoyed six years together.

For many years Susan was a very active member of Erlanger Christian Church. She served as a worship leader, secretary of Christian Women’s Fellowship, head of the deacon board, and secretary of the Board of Directors. Susan was an animal lover and always had two rescue dogs as pets.

She is survived by her husband, John Drach formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan and now of Taylor Mill, KY; her daughter Amy Kennedy; brother Gordon Braun; stepdaughters Diane Uy and Laura DeSoto; and a beagle named Mandy.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Erlanger Christian Church, 27 Graves Ave. Erlanger, KY 41018. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Susan will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Kentucky.
