Obituary For Tamra Ann Johnson

Tamra Ann Johnson: A Life of Love, Faith, and Simple Joys

Tamra Ann (Tammy) Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love that touched countless lives. Born on May 29, 1959, in Covington, Kentucky, Tammy was the eldest of five children born to Roy and Jane Piercefield.

Tammy received her education from Simon Kenton High School and later attended Eastern Kentucky University. Throughout her 65 years, she embodied unconditional love and devotion. As a dedicated medical secretary for Halpin-Poweleit Eye Center for over 45 years, she approached her work with the same care and compassion she brought to every aspect of her life.

For more than 40 years, she taught 3rd-grade Sunday school and VBS at Erlanger Baptist Church. She helped create a space of faith, warmth, and learning, nurturing young minds and hearts.

Tammy found joy in life's simplest moments. Tammy loved spending time with her family. She was an avid fan of Kentucky basketball, rarely missing a game and often listening intently to radio broadcasts, her enthusiasm for the Wildcats unwavering. Whether cheering for the Bengals, tending to her garden, or enjoying boat rides with her beloved husband Jim and his family. Her passions ranged from traveling, long walks and grocery shopping to marveling at breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, always finding beauty in the world around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband Jim Johnson and sons Jeremiah Johnson, Johnathan Johnson (Jamie), and Jordan Johnson (Michelle); grandchildren Hayley, Jacob, Isaiah and Baylee; her mother Jane Piercefield; sisters Alice Hopperton (Danny), Betty Heeger (Rob), and April Faris (Eric); and brother Roy Dan Piercefield (Katy) and countless other nieces and nephews. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Roy Piercefield. She was more than just a family member - she was the heart of her family, making everyone feel loved and special.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Erlanger Baptist Church. A celebration of Tammy's remarkable life will follow at 12:00 pm. While she has now been welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, her spirit of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family welcomes floral tributes to be sent for the service. Additionally, for those who wish to honor Tammy's memory through a charitable contribution, donations may be made to the Sunday School program at Erlanger Baptist Church.
