Obituary For Theresa Ann Dattilo
Theresa Ann Dattilo (Selby), 78, of Edgewood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. She was born on February 5, 1948, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Stewart Albert Selby and Rita Gene Selby.
Theresa was the beloved wife of James Dattilo, with whom she shared a loving marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was a devoted mother to her son, James “Jay” Dattilo, and her daughter, Gina (Will) Dattilo.
A highly successful realtor throughout her career, Theresa consistently ranked among the top professionals in her field, earning membership in the Million Dollar Club month after month and receiving numerous awards and accolades. Her dedication, work ethic, and passion for helping others achieve their dreams of homeownership made her a respected figure in the community. Among her many accomplishments, she was honored with a nomination for Kenton County Woman of the Year.
Beyond her professional success, Theresa’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. An avid home designer, she was always reimagining and refreshing her home, whether through new paint colors, furniture arrangements, or decorating projects. Theresa embraced life with enthusiasm and energy and was known for her love of a lively, bustling household. She often joked that she thrived on chaos.
Theresa and her husband, James, were also passionate advocates for families. Together, they helped fight for and advance grandparents’ rights in Kentucky, leaving a lasting impact on families throughout the Commonwealth.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved son, James “Jay” Dattilo, and her sisters, Julie Harris and Mary Rolfsen “PeeWee.”
She is survived by her loving husband, James Dattilo; her daughter, Gina (Will) Dattilo; her brother, Stew Selby; her grandchildren, Nikki Dattilo, Tess Dattilo-Acosta, and Emily Rivera; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, at St. Pius Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
