Viola Rose Pelzer (Sandfoss), of Burlington passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by those who loved her.

Born on March 29, 1932, her life was marked by devotion to family, quiet strength, and a generous heart. Viola was first married to Richard Cauvin, and later to James Pelzer, with whom she shared many meaningful years. Family was the center of Viola’s life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she took great pride in the people she loved.

Viola is survived by her daughters, Sharon Cecil, Marian (Joseph) Krogman, and Jennifer (Brandan) Bamfield; step-children Kevin (Jacque) Pelzer, Mary (David) Stoeckle, and Lori Eversole, and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Sandra (Jack) Kenkel; granddaughter Gina Marie; and her husbands, Richard Cauvin and James Pelzer.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Boonespring Nursing Facility for their compassion and support.

A visitation will be from 11 AM – 12 PM with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5876 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Viola’s memory. Viola Rose Pelzer will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the legacy of family she leaves behind.
