Obituary For Wanda Gene Platt

Wanda Gene Platt of Independence, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born in Moores Hill, Indiana on July 15, 1947, to the late Clara (Campbell) Beggs and Lauren Beggs.

She retired after many years of working for Citi Group as a VIP Account Servicer. While at Citi Group she was able to work alongside her husband of 25 years, which they both enjoyed!

Throughout her life, she always kept deep faith and truly believed in the power of prayer. Wanda was baptized early in her life at the Church of Christ in Moores Hill, IN and later attended Lakeside Christian Church in KY.

Wanda had a very giving heart. She was passionately involved in and supported charities like Matthew 25: Ministries. Wanda’s outgoing personality made her easy to talk to. She was an avid reds fan and proud season ticket holder. She also enjoyed watching I.U. college basketball. Wanda was a beloved wife, mother, and friend who will be missed deeply.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Tarvin and her children, Sherry Platt and Jason Platt; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Paula Cranfill and Lori Hunter; and her childhood best friend, Millie (Addison) Plyman.

Wanda will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill, Indiana. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Matthew 25: Ministries by clicking here.
