12/23/1937 - 4/27/2026
Obituary For Wanda Lou Martineck
Wanda Lou Martineck, 88, of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026.
Born on December 23, 1937 in Campbell County, KY. Wanda was the oldest daughter of the late Helen Marie Potter and Joseph Carlisle Reis.
Wanda worked for Keebler for over 37 years, retiring in 2000. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club which she enjoyed with some of her retired friends. While able, you could find her gardening, thrifting and playing slot machines at the local casinos. She enjoyed the simple things, like a cold Coca-Cola with a straw or sitting on her front porch greeting every passerby.
Wanda was a hometown fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. She was an avid animal lover, particularly of her many cats, each of which she gave a unique name. Wanda was strong in her faith and devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra (Debbie) Bowman and her nephew, Harold (Sonny) Johnson.
She is survived by her son James L. Bowman Jr. and her grandchildren: Glenda Luman (Jeremy), Elvis Bowman and James (Jimmy) Bowman. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren Ivan Luman and Aiden Luman, her sister Billie Hughes; along with her niece, nephew, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
The family finds comfort knowing her finals days were spent in peace. They would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice of Cincinnati for making that possible.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10am-11am at Don Catchen Family Funeral Home in Elsmere, KY with a graveside burial immediately following at Grandview Cemetery in Mentor, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the SPCA or your local animal shelter.
