Obituary For Wayne Perry
Wayne Perry born in Covington, Kentucky, March 13, 1951 died March 22, 2026 after a long illness.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of fifty years, Jeannie. He was a loving father and grandfather to his daughter Nicole King (Tyler) and grandchildren James and Riley King. Brothers Ron, Larry, Charlie and Bob, several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Kay Robinson also survive him.
Wayne was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Ruth, and sister Ruth Ann Hardtke.
Wayne loved a good adventure! He was a barge deckhand one summer in high school going down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. He spent time hitchhiking through France in college.
He joined the Navy in 1974. Guam was his only tour. He and Jeannie enjoyed traveling to different countries in Asia. After the service he worked for Sanders Associates (later Raytheon) where he learned and taught the Patriot Missile Guidance System to the German Air Force and later at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
Wayne spent the next twenty-five years working first for Ford and later Lear Corporation. While with Lear, Wayne and family were transferred to Portugal coming back to the U.S. (Michigan) in time for Y2K.
After retirement they settled in The Villages, Florida. Wayne enjoyed LOTS of golf and hosting family and friends. They traveled to Michigan to see the grandchildren until it became too difficult for Wayne.
He was an honest and kind man. Generous with his love and respect. Wayne, you will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 14 from 11-3 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Covington, KY 41015.
Condolences
