Obituaries

William Kevin Patrick Booher, 76, of Manhattan, New York, and later Covington, Kentucky, died peacefully in his 1871 historical Italianate home he re-designed, restored and re-built in Old Seminary Square, Covington, Kentucky.

Predeceased in death by his younger brother, Barry J. (Finbar) Booher, (Mary Ellen Olander), accomplished and devoted parents, pioneering criminal defense attorney Marjorie W. Booher and Dr. Robert J. Booher, a world-renowned gastrointestinal cancer scholar and surgeon formerly of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, (Weill) Cornell Hospital and Doctors Hospital Manhattan, among others.

Survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie M. Booher, adored children Liam O’Sullivan Booher (Kathleen Booher), Molly O’Sullivan Saucier (Jason Saucier), Kevin Robert Booher (Natalie Greene Booher), his nine precious grandchildren, Sean W. Booher, Katie C. Booher, Grace L. Booher, Luke D. Booher, Anna J. Saucier, Natalie O’S. Saucier, Patrick J. Saucier, Henry W. Booher, and Maeve M. Booher, his loyal siblings Robert P. Booher (Patricia O’Connor Booher), Sean C. Booher, Esq., Brian W. Booher and M. Denise Booher Hendrick (Donald L. Hendrick), his ex-wife and mother of his children, Maureen O’Sullivan, nieces Kaitlin (Jed Howbert) Booher, Shannon (Jason) Raskin and Jessie (Paul) Ostrander, many cousins, friends, former colleagues, Covington neighbors, fellow working artists and former students – loved, one and all.

Kevin lived the entirety of his life as a force of nature – one of one -- a relentless achiever and advocate for people, projects and discovery. As a truth-seeker and naturally curious thinker, there were very few disciplines or subjects Kevin did not find interesting and worthy of study, engagement in, or in many cases, development of subject-matter expertise.

The family invites you to attend Kevin’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Hellman Creative Arts Center, 321 West Martin Luther King (12th Street) Boulevard, Covington, Kentucky, 41011. Joy-filled Memorial Service Program begins at 1:30 p.m. Hosted Celebration of Life Party held from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The family further thanks Kevin’s Bluegrass Care Navigators hospice team, Kevin’s University of Cincinnati Neurology, Interventional Medicine and Oncology teams, and Kevin’s Christ Hospital Oncology, Interventional Radiology, Surgery and Nuclear Fusion, 4West Hospital Oncology, Cancer Center, Palliative Care and exceptional Red Bank Expressway Oncology / Chemo Lab teams, led by Dr. Rafi Kahn, for their unyielding and quality care of Kevin and Stephanie.
