Obituary For William T. Garnett, Jr.
William "Red" T. Garnett Jr., 87, of Erlanger, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at The Village Care Center. Born on August 5, 1938, in Covington, Red's life was marked by devoted service, steadfast dedication to family, and a passion for life.
A graduate of Holmes High School, Red embraced a career as the service manager for Hertz Car Rental, from which he retired after many years of commitment. His professional journey was complemented by distinguished military service; he proudly served in both the United States Marines and the Navy Reserve, embodying a spirit of honor and patriotism that was evident throughout his life.
He was an active member of the Covington Turners, a testament to his love for community and sport. An avid Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Basketball fan, he found joy in cheering for his favorite teams. Growing up, he cherished playing softball and looked forward to fishing trips with his friends and family. Red was the life of every party and had many lifelong friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Red's life. He is lovingly survived by his children: William Edward (Holly) Garnett, Robert Todd Garnett, and Colleen Rene (Norman) Bray; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy. He was also the devoted brother of Barbara Carpenter.
William T. Garnett Jr. was preceded in death by his father, William T. Garnett Sr., his mother, Dorothy Marie Garnett Nee: Stephens, and his brother, Richard Garnett, whose memories he held close.
The community is invited to pay their respects during a visitation on March 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to the hour of service at 12:00 PM at the Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, located at 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, Kentucky. Interment will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.
