Kenton County residents can now renew their cars over the phone by calling 877-885-3009.
“Unlike the online renewal system offered by the Department of Transportation which limits someone to renewing only the standard plates, this new line allows someone to renew any plate including the personalized plates, the membership plates and specialty plates,” said Gabrielle Summe, Kenton County Clerk.
Since the majority of specialty plates are due in the month of December, the ability to renew any plate by phone is a huge advantage for the customer. The customer can now avoid the long lines at the end of the month.
The other benefit to this renew-by-phone system is the flat rate to a credit card versus a percentage of the renewal fees and taxes.
Summe said the process is easy and stated “Here’s how it works. Have your blue registration & credit card ready. Call 877-885-3009 and follow the prompts. Make sure to leave a call back number in case insurance must be verified or additional information is required.”
