The Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame is set to welcome four new inductees at its monthly meeting on Jan. 21 at the Villa Hills Civic Club.
The newest members are: Wayne Keller for Football, Basketball and Officiating; Terry Trame for Football, Basketball, Baseball and Softball; Randall Wofford for Football, Basketball, Baseball and Coaching; and Vikki Wofford for Volleyball, Basketball, Softball and Coaching.
The induction will take place at 1 p.m. Here’s a brief look at each new member:
Wayne Keller: Graduated from Ludlow High and served as manager of the high school basketball team from 1981-87. After graduation, he joined the Northern Kentucky Official Association and began officiating pee wee football. He has been an official since 1995. In 2006 he was the Back Judge in the State Final 3A playoff between Covington Catholic and Bowling Green. In 2011 he was selected to work in the Northern Kentucky Senior All-Star Game. He also officiated the 2013 6A State Final between Scott County and Meade County.
He also serves as the announcer at the Ludlow High School home Basketball games. He currently serves as Vice-President of the Northern Kentucky Officials Association. He has also worked games for the collegiate Mid South Conference in 2008 and has worked a number of games, including NAIA playoffs.
Terry Trame: Graduated of Holy Cross High School and played youth basketball and baseball for Covington Turners and football for the Bengal Tigers from 1970-78. He played four years for Holy Cross High School in basketball and baseball from 1978-82. He played softball for numerous teams in Covington leagues, Softball City and Tournaments in the Tri-State area as well as out of State.
He began his coaching with Covington Turners basketball and baseball teams in 1983 and coached the St. Johns 8th grade basketball team in 1984. He was assistant Basketball coach for Coach Dan Trame at St. Henry 1989-91 and assistant basketball coach and freshman coach for Simon Kenton High School in 1994-95. He coached girl’s fast pitch softball as an assistant in 1994-95 and was assistant basketball coach and junior varsity coach at Lloyd 1995-96. He also coached the boys and girls tennis tennis team in 1999-2000.
He was the Williamstown varsity boys basketball coach 1996-97, assistant basketball coach and junior varsity coach at Ryle High School from 2000-04 and girls varsity basketball coach at Ryle High School 2004-06. He was the boys freshman baseball coach at Ryle High School in 2005 and the boys varsity golf and tennis coach at Cooper High School from 2006-Present.
Randy Wofford: He graduated Ludlow High 1992 and was a four-year starter in football. He was Northern Kentucky All-Conference for two years and was a second-team All-Region pick. In basketball, he was a three-year starter for coach Ray Thompson and was a member of the Northern All-Conference team. In baseball, he was also a four-year starter and twice made the Northern Kentucky All-Conference team. He is the only male athlete to play in all three Senior All-Star games for football, basketball and baseball.
He served as Ludlow High football assistant coach from 2000-02 and 2007 and was the Ludlow High boys basketball assistant coach for eight seasons from 1998-06.
He was the Ludlow High girls basketball assistant coach for seasons from 2007-09 and the Ludlow girls basketball head coach for four seasons, 2009-13. He was selected Coach of the Year in 2012.
He was named Ludlow boys basketball head coach in 2013 and he coached the team to a conference championship with an undefeated 12-0 (second time in school history), which led to Coach of the Year honors.
Vikki Keller Wofford: She graduated from Ludlow High in 1990. She was a three-year starter (1987-98) in volleyball and member of the Northern Kentucky All-Conference first team as well as the Region IV all-Tournament team. In basketball, she was a four-year starter beginning in 1986, and made the 34th District All-Tournament team twice as well as earning a spot on the Northern Kentucky All-Conference first team. She also played basketball for three years at Thomas More
In softball, she was a three-year starter, beginning in 1988, and was named to the Dayton Devilfest All-Tournament team three times. She also made the Northern Kentucky All-Conference team (third team) and played in the Senior All-Star Game, becoming the only female athlete from Ludlow to play in all three sports.
She was assistant girls basketball coach at Ludlow High from 2009-13 and she currently serves as girls basketball head coach, where she was named Coach of the Year after her first season. She has also served as Ludlow High assistant volleyball coach since 2012.
