Community leaders in conjunction with The Yearlings, Inc., announced today the return of Charity Night at the Tables. This one-of-a-kind celebration of community giving is scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at Turfway Park.
“We are very excited to bring Charity Night back to Northern Kentucky,” said Ralph Dusing, committee member. “Over the years, this popular event attracted thousands of supporters and raised in excess of $270,000 to support local non-profits and we are thrilled to be a part of this celebration.”
Eight Northern Kentucky non-profit agencies will benefit from the 2015 Charity Night event including:
Boone County CASA
Family Nurturing Center
Holly Hill Children’s Home
NKY Education Council
New Perceptions
Parish Kitchen
Senior Services of Northern Kentucky
Steinford Toy Foundation
“Nancy and I are excited to endorse the return of this celebration,” said Honorary Chairperson Trey Grayson, President & CEO of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. ” In the past, this event not only helped fund programs for area non-profits but has raised awareness and provides the participating organizations with a valuable new pipeline of volunteers and community supporters.”
Charity Night is an energizing night of Monte Carlo gaming where the participating charities earn the ability to back horses in Turfway’s Kentucky Derby prep race, the $550,000 Horseshoe Cincinnati Spiral Stakes. Players try their luck at roulette, poker, blackjack and other casino games, designating play-money winnings to one of the participating charities. The charity with the most “money” in chips at the end of the night gets first pick of horses running in the Spiral Stakes the following Saturday. The charity whose horse finishes in first receives $5,000. The charity whose horse finishes second receives $3,500 and third place is $1,500. Each of the remaining charities will receive $1,000.
The event is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Turfway Room at Turfway Park. Tickets are $75 per person and are available online at www.theyearlings.org or by calling 859-905-0392. Admission includes food, drinks, gaming chips and entertainment. Register early as space is limited.
A number of local companies have stepped up to support the celebration including The Bank of Kentucky, Toyota and The Yearlings. For more information about sponsorship opportunities contact Bill Koenig at (859) 905-0392.
