The Advocates are a 40-member National award winning volunteer fundraising group for the NKYCAC. In their 5 years history they have raised over half a million dollars for the NKYCAC. The funds help to bridge the gap between reimbursement for NKYCAC’s services and the cost to provide those critical services.

Through these events, The Advocates bring the message of NKYCAC to thousands of individuals throughout the region, increasing awareness of child abuse and NKYCAC’s services. The Advocates spread the word of the mission of NKYCAC to the community, ensuring ongoing support.

Last year, the NKYCAC served over 750 children in a coordinated response to child abuse and is the only Children’s Advocacy Center in Northern Kentucky. It has also been nationally recognized as a Center of Excellence by the National Children’s Alliance.

“We work to keep children safe from abuse and when abuse occurs, we work with our community to bring healing to children and their families,” said Vickie Henderson, Executive Director of the Center. “We are able to provide a safe, child friendly, setting for children that allows them to speak about the horrific acts of child abuse that have been perpetuated against them. Where investigators observe the forensic interviewers as a team, and family advocates meet with caregivers providing them with resources and assistance. By bringing together the different professionals involved in child abuse investigations, we can all work together and share important information– to not only minimize the number of times a child is interviewed, but reduce the overall trauma and provide support and resources to non-offending family members to keep a child safe,” Henderson said.

Sponsorships for Masquerade Madness are available now, and ticket and table reservations are being accepted.
