Thomas More College senior Lucas Nare (Guilford, Ind./Oldenburg Academy) and freshman Christina Cook (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) earned weekly honors Tuesday from the the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) office.
Nare was named the PAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after claiming a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.44) at Saturday’s 12th Annual Engineer Invitational, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Nare also finished third in the 60-meter dash (7.13) and ran the anchor leg on the Saints’ fifth-place 4×200-meter relay (1:33.78) squad.
Cook was named the PAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. She ran to a pair of individual top-10 finishes at Saturday’s 12th Annual Engineer Invitational. Cook posted a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (27.25) and finished seventh in the 60-meter dash (8.21). Cook was also the anchor of the Saints’ 4-x-200-meter relay that finished third (1:51.00).
The Thomas More men’s and women’s track & field teams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Granville, Ohio, to compete in the Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Denison University.
