It’s ‘Restoration Weekend’ featuring ‘Taste and Talk’ Covington Gateway, all free


Take the opportunity to meet with vendors, preservation experts and homeowners at NKY Restoration Weekend on Saturday from 9 a.m. til 4 p.m. at Gateway Community & Technical College, 525 Scott Avenue in Covington.

And enjoy a bit of ‘Taste of NKy’ from six area restaurants as well.

It’s all free and open to the public, but registration in advance is requested at www.nkyrestoration.com — look for the RSVP tab.

NKY Restoration is an unincorporated association and collaboration of individuals who share an interest in historic preservation.

Restoration Weekend has been partially funded by a Certified Local Government grant given to the Cities of Bellevue and Covington from the National Park Service and administered by the Kentucky Heritage Council.

Free Parking
There is free parking on Saturday for the event at the Midtown Parking Garage, located adjacent to the Gateway Urban Campus at the corner of 5th St and Greenup St.

Some free sessions offer CEU credits for architects and planners will be offered Friday at Baker Hunt located at 620 Greenup Street in Covington, KY. A free boxed lunch will be provided by Tri-State Wholesale Building Supplies. Registration with refreshments begins at 8 am. Sessions run from 8:30 to noon.
