Should a regional asset be governed solely by one county? This is just one of the questions that will be asked as the Northern Kentucky Forum hosts an event on March 10th at the METs Center in Erlanger, “CVG’s Future: Up in the Air?”
Few institutions impact our region as deeply as the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.Ticket prices. Destinations. Number of flights. Jet noise. All of those have drawn public attention over the years, in addition to the governance of an airport that is located in one county, governed by another and serving several.
“The airport is key to the success of our region. We are pleased to be hosting an event on such an important regional topic,” said Northern Kentucky Forum Board Chair Carla Landon.
Panelists include: Kenton County Judge-Executive Kris Knochelmann; Hamilton County (Ohio) Commissioner Greg Hartmann; CVG Vice President for Planning and Development Barbara Schempf; and, from the business community, REDI Cincinnati President and CEO Johnna Reeder. Cincinnati.com/Kentucky Enquirer reporter James Pilcher will moderate. Pilcher has written extensively about the airport and its governance.
