The seventh annual Shop and Share, a one-day goods drive to benefit the domestic violence shelters in Kentucky communities, is almost here.
Hosted by the Center for Women and Families, the drive will be held at all Kentucky Kroger, Food City and Super Dollar Discount Food stores Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Shop and Share Day will not be a success without the support and generosity of Kentuckians across the Commonwealth,” said Beshear. “By volunteering two hours of your time on March 28, you can play a part in supporting domestic violence victims and shelters in your community.”
To assist the campaign, Shop and Share will be held in March, just in the midst of March Madness, as opposed to the Saturday prior to the SuperBowl to avoid potential winter weather restrictions.
On Shop and Share day, volunteers at each Kroger, Food City and Super Dollar Discount Food store will provide a list of items needed at KCADV shelters – such as non-perishable foods, school supplies, hygiene products and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
If you would like to volunteer in Boone, Kenton or Campbell Counties, contact Kelly Rose at (859) 372-3578 or at krose@wccky.org.
Volunteers can sign-up for two-hour shifts at a participating store of their choosing. To register to volunteer in all other counties, click here.
Here, you can find a list of the current openings for volunteering.
All contributions collected through Shop and Share will be donated to the 15 KCADV shelters across the state. To date, Shop and Share has raised more than $3 million in combined goods and monetary donations for KCADV.

Even if you can’t volunteer for the event, consider shopping on March 28th and donating an item to the cause. Below is a “wish list” of needed items.
