First Lady Jane Beshear is encouraging Kentuckians to volunteer for the seventh annual Shop and Share day, a one-day goods drive to benefit Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence shelters across the state. The drive will be held at Kentucky Kroger, Food City and Super Dollar Discount Food stores Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Shop and Share Day will not be a success without the support and generosity of Kentuckians across the Commonwealth,” said Beshear. “By volunteering two hours of your time on March 28, you can play a part in supporting domestic violence victims and shelters in your community.”
On Shop and Share day, volunteers at each Kroger, Food City and Super Dollar Discount Food store will provide a list of items needed at KCADV shelters – such as non-perishable foods, school supplies, hygiene products and cleaning supplies. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
Volunteers can sign-up for two-hour shifts at a participating store of their choosing. To register, click here.
All contributions collected through Shop and Share will be donated to the 15 KCADV shelters across the state. To date, Shop and Share has raised more than $3 million in combined goods and monetary donations for KCADV.
