G.Y.M.M.’s summer youth program combines sports and education through fun activities

This summer, Next Level Academy in Wilder will be offering a unique and innovative program for kids. The program, Growing Young Minds and Muscles, or G.Y.M.M., is designed to be a summer-long fun and educational sports camp. Next Level’s 23,000 square foot indoor facility will give campers the opportunity to learn new skills and improve skills they already have in a fun and safe environment.

The G.Y.M.M. staff is dedicated to making a difference in campers lives on and off the court. Expert trainers will take the campers through a physical fitness and educational plan. Campers will get sports specific exercise and training, time for education and creativity, and the opportunity to hear from professional guest speakers on topics such as nutrition and safety.

“This program is a cost-efficient way for parents to provide both sports and educational activities over the summer for their children,” said Bob Arnold, owner of Next Level Academy.

A number of sports and games will be introduced to the campers throughout the summer. In addition to the traditional sports such as basketball, volleyball and baseball, campers will get to experience golf, futsal, obstacles courses, and even quidditch. Educational activities will include creative thinking in math, science, arts and crafts, and board games. The camp will also allow for kids to have some educational down time.

G.Y.M.M. is a 10-week summer day camp for children ages 6 – 14. It will begin June 1 and end Aug. 7 and will run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Next Level is offering a variety of camp packages. The first package is 1 – 5 weeks of camp Monday through Friday at $100 per week. The second package is 6 – 10 weeks of camp Monday through Friday at $90 per week. A single day of camp will be $40 and a half day of camp will cost $25. Parents can also pay an additional $5 if they need early drop off or late pick up for their children. Sign up for five weeks or more and your camper will receive a free camp t-shirt.
