The American Cancer Society has announced a statewide effort to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.
Called “Hope Lives Here,” the effort includes a donation drive and Night of Hope events in seven locations across the state on September 18, 2015.
The events aims to turn the Commonwealth purple. Organizers anticipate that more than 1,500 Kentuckians will take part.
Night of Hope events will take place at:
Newport Aquarium – Northern Kentucky
Lexington’s Triangle Park
Kentucky Lake /Sportsman’s Lodge – Benton
Blazin’ Bluegrass Festival – Southeastern Kentucky
Natural Bridge – Eastern Kentucky
Fountain Square Park – Bowling Green, and
Smothers Park – Owensboro
For those who cannot attend the events can show support by turning on their porch lights and lighting a luminaria in on September 18th.
